Oiling a CrushGrind Mill Copenhagen Beechwood pepper and salt set

13th October 2015 11:26

Q Many thanks for sending the Crushgrind beechwood salt and pepper mill set . I was wondering if a little olive (or other) oil on the outside would be a good idea or not recommended because it would make the mills sticky and collect dust, etc. Or maybe it is just not necessary at all and they will stay looking good for ever as they are. And, what about washing on the outside? Just a damp cloth from time to time?

I did appreciate your website - the only place where one can find really good information and details about the various brands of salt/pepper mills and help one to make a proper considered decision.

Thank you.

Thankyou for your feedback. Here is a link to our product care page which says how to look after the mill body, along with answers to other questions

In terms of oiling the mill body, our suppliers say that the mills do not need this and it is not something that they advise doing mainly, I think because it is not a good idea to get oil near the mechanism as ceramic is quite porous and could absorb the oil and do damage.

Best wishes

Claire
