Please advise on what is the best Pepper Mill

31st January 2013 09:49

Q Hi, Im looking for a pepper mill for myself, but im now undecided as to which one to buy, Regarding the Peugeot mills , not much info, do they have a website, what makes so superior As for Zassenhaus mills , are these made in Germany or just designed and engineeered like the Cole and Masons are? Would appreciate your help and some suggestions on this, Many thanks

A Thankyou for your email and sorry to take a few days to come back to you. I think that the Peugeot mills are the best, in terms of the mechanism and the quality of the materials that go into making the mills. Saying that some of the cheaper models, although they have the same mechanism, the body is made from cheaper materials which aren't quite so good. Here are some examples of the best Peugeot mills - you can put these names in the search box on the site near the bottom of the LH navigation:

  • Paris
  • Chateauneuf
  • Hostellerie
  • Tahiti
  • Vendome/Versailles
  • Palace/Mignonette
  • Evian
  • Fidji
  • Vittel
  • Nancy
  • Bali

Here is the Peugeot website

Peugeot Saveur Website - France

n terms of where Zassenhaus mills are made, they are made in Germany. Both are good mills and good mechanisms but the mill bodies are on a par with the lesser quality Peugeot mills, rather than the top Peugeot mills.

Hope this helps
