What salt and pepper mills do you recommend?
QUESTION: I'm looking for a recommendation for salt and pepper mills- had a set recently from Waitrose which hardly lasted 5 mins. I quite like the Kuchenprofi 2 in 1 Mill but am happy for you to tell me which of your sets are most reliable. Thanks
ANSWER: Further to our phone conversation just now I have attached links for our recommended wet sea salt grinders below.
CrushGrind Classic Clear Salt Mill
Peugeot Vendome Wet Sea Salt Grinder
These are the two most capable wet sea salt grinders that I can recommend. The both have their plus points and as you will notice quite a lot in common. They both have ceramic grinders and combined wood/acrylic bodies. Both mills have got a lifetime warrany on the mechanism.
The Peugeot mill has been designed for use with wet sea salt only whereas the Crushgrind Classic will work with ordinary salt as well as wet sea salt. The main difference between these mills is the spiral within the Peugeot. It is this ceramic spiral that helps to force the salt down into the grinder.
Of the two I would say that the Peugeot is built out of better materials in terms of the wood and acrylic, however, this is the only ceramic mechanism that Peugeot produce. The mechanism on the Crushgrind is the same as across their entire range. They know that this mechansim works and we do not get Crushgrind mills come back. I can confirm that we have both in stock.
If you have any further questions please do let me know.
